This Guide will help you to break down the diagnostic criteria for Autism and support you in recognition of your potential Autistic traits, which can help to increase your understanding of yourself!

When I started my own Autism journey, I had so many unanswered questions:

  • What were/weren't autistic traits?

  • Where did these fit into the criteria?

  • What were other examples within the criteria that I might relate to?

I made this guide for exactly this purpose, so that you can identify potential traits and more confidently approach your doctor or other medical professional for a diagnosis.

This guide includes over 300 examples of Autistic traits

  • A detailed breakdown of each criteria

  • What each criteria means

  • Prompts and examples for every area of the criteria (over 300 different examples in total)

  • Space for you to fill out your own autistic traits

There is also a tab called 'How to use', which gives all the details you need before you start!

Disclaimer: All information provided is based on my own experience as a late diagnosed Autistic, along with research I have conducted using trusted sources. I am not a licensed professional, so this should not substitute medical support or diagnosis.

Excellent resource!

This resource has been so helpful for me to explore and understand each of the diagnostic criteria in preparation for my upcoming assessment. And to help me to think of key examples and organise them in terms of the criteria ☺️ thank you for creating such a helpful resource!

an amazing resource!

This guide honestly calmed the anxiety I had about my upcoming assessment, and it has given me a lot of clarity on points that I wasn't sure about before. I'm a 27 year old high masking female, who has been misdiagnosed, ignored and judged my entire life when trying to access services that I knew I needed. So, I have been feeling really apprehensive about my assessment, and worried that I won't be able to explain myself the way I need to. But this guide, with it's explanations and examples, has helped me to outline my own experiences and to understand them better. I have also sat down with family members and had them look at this guide with me, and I think it has allowed them to take deeper look into what I experience day to day, and it helped me explain my struggles to them in more coherent ways. Thank you for writing this guide, for helping me be more open about autism with those close to me, and for relieving some of the stresses I was having about being misunderstood in my assessment ♡
